Craig Manister was my ART100 professor at the CUNY College of Staten Island this past Spring semester. His work is incredibly beautiful when observed firsthand in person. Manister's ability to transport his audience elsewhere and to inspire thought about our own environs and place in time, space, and society are executed quite well when observed through the Black and White paintings (especially) and using the human form motif.
It was a privilege being his student, an experience opening my eyes to beauty in a simple, complex world. Stop in and take a peek at his works whenever he's on display. Thanks, Prof. Manister. --M. Peele.
