Eileen Senner

Artist Statment

Painting reminds me of what I don't know but what I recognize as familiar. I pursue this just-beyond-reach ancient wisdom using fragmented classical torsos and fleeting wild animal "ghosts" in the search for what's left, what endures, remains, sustains--what it means to be an embodied, wild, beautiful human animal

Awarded two National Endowment for the Arts Visual Art Fellowships and several Scripps College Faculty Research Grants, Senner earned her MFA from Claremont Graduate University.  Her art is in the collections of Yale University Art Gallery and Pomona College Museum of Art, and has been exhibited throughout the US.
