Personal Statement
Painting brings together my observations of nature with my observations about the nature of painting. While my approach is largely improvisational and experimental, composition is central, an interest that began through music and developed through painting and architecture, as well as teaching at the Rhode Island School of Design.

Irving Haynes passed away August 27, 2005.
