Artist Statment

I am continuing to work with the notion of experiential landscape—inner and outer—perceived in part by direct observation and in part by sensations that hover at the edge of conscious thought and vision.

The execution of watercolors outdoors is a vital part of my painting cycle. These watercolors have their own lives as visual statements, additionally providing me with a visual diary of source material for oil painting.
