These paintings are inspired by my soft sculptures called Organic Vessels that mimic the human body and life cycle. The evolutionary process of these tangible and personified objects opens the door to the ultimate question, “What is the meaning of life?” By proposing an alternate reality or state of being, this body of work reflects on contradictions and metaphors in life, offering a compelling look into another world of dreams and strange spaces, paint and image, obscure forms and unconventional landscapes. As an object, the Vessel represents a mark in time. Paintings and photographic images are what we have in order to remember the past, something that once existed. A representation of time, the birth, the interior, the domestic, and eventually closure.
