Anthony Cuneo was born in Chicago, Illinois, and grew up there and in the New York metropolitan area. When he was in kindergarten, he saw a reproduction of Picasso’s “Woman in Front of a Mirror” and was more or less ruined for anything productive from then on. Still striving, against the odds, for a life of virtue and civic betterment, he attended the University of Pennsylvania with the idea of being a lawyer. He was named a Benjamin Franklin Scholar, but ultimately failed to do anything of substance and, instead, ended up with an M.F.A. in 1981. In his defense, he has had an extensive exhibition record as a painter and photographer, and has taught at both the collegiate and secondary levels (though it has been pointed out that this is no more than passing on his own corruption).  In aid of this morally bankrupt practice, he was the Fine & Performing Arts Department chair at Montclair Kimberley Academy for many years and a finalist for the Princeton University Excellence in Secondary Teaching award in 2002. Totally unrepentant, he currently continues on the faculty at Montclair Kimberley Academy and at the Yard School of Art of the Montclair Art Museum. At this point, there is probably no realistic hope that he will ever achieve anything of societal value with his life.
