Alexander Ayers
Exhibition Dates: March 26 - April 20, 2013
Reception: Thursday, March 28, 6 to 8 PM
These drawings began with inspiration from the Deepwater Horizon oil spill of 2010. They consider environmental issues like the spill, global warming, and the 20 square mile plastic garbage flotilla in the Pacific Ocean. All these drawings, some over 5 feet wide, are from the last 2 years. What they become is an exploration of space and form through drawing. The space lifeforms on earth permeate and merger with the space man has developed. They put the visual insanity of disaster on display and celebrate the life in details. Embedded in these drawings is concern for our environment and man's effect on it. This is Alexander's first public exhibition of his drawings.
