Art File
The Art File is a curated online gallery on The Painting Center’s website. Art File artists have a public presence on our website as well as the opportunity to be considered for inclusion in our frequent member and guest curated exhibitions. There is an annual Art File membership fee of $75 due upon acceptance. Artists selected for an exhibition will be contacted by The Painting Center. These exhibitions are funded partially by the gallery and by supplemental contributions requested from the participating artists. In addition to having a public presence on the The Painting Center website, Art File artists participating in exhibitions are included on Artsy. Art File artists can also apply for membership, juried exhibitions or a solo exhibition in the Project Room.
Applications will be accepted for review January 1 - May 15, 2024.
Applications: Please follow the guidelines when preparing your submission. Submissions must include all of the following, in a single email, for our consideration:
Images
As individual attachments. No zip files, please.
Three (3) JPEG images of your recent work—completed within the last two years.
72 DPI resolution, a minimum of 1200 pixels on the shortest side of each image.
Label each file: Last Name_First Name_Title_Year.
Written Content
This should be written in the body of your email. Please do not attach Word docs or PDF files. Include the following:
Details of your images (title, year, medium, size)
Biographical information (50 words max)
Brief artist statement (50 words max) containing the most pertinent information about you and your work
Link to your Website
Link to your Instagram
Email your submission to artfile@thepaintingcenter.org with “Art File Submission” in the subject line. Applications are accepted for review between January 1 - May 15, 2024. Artists will be notified of the status of their submission in March 2024.
There is an annual Art File membership fee of $75 due upon acceptance. The membership fee helps to defray the costs of maintaining the website.
