All of the artists who are participating in Art Fair 14C are members of The Painting Center. The work of these artists span all genres of painting: Thomas Berding’s work explores the idea of endless surplus with mixed media paintings made from stencils, collaged paint skins and diverse paint handling. Connie Brown calls her own work, “a riot of color,” formed through constant reworking and layers of sensual and biomorphic shapes. Working in encaustic, Kathy Cantwell explores the irregularities of the medium by building opacity and layers of patterned geometric shapes. Sue Collier as a plein air artist uses figures and nature as inspiration to in her radiant  paintings. Katharine Dufault creates transparent layers and opaque swaths in her paintings that present a modern rendering of landscape. Robin Feld looks to the crisscrossing and tangles found in nature that feature layers of dripped, poured and scrapped paint. Dana Killion creates soft, dreamlike abstract paintings with a touch of bold lines. JoAnnne McFarland, whose work is a part of the Library of Congress’ collection, creates collaged works that stem from both visual art and the written word. Jack McWhorter’s abstract paintings present snapshots of structures in flux or becoming as entities earthbound and cosmological. The figure is central to Kristin Osterberg’s work and is referenced in her intimate paintings. Lisa Petker Mintz’s layered and stenciled works explore florals and geometrics. Randi Reiss-McCormack creates three-dimensional abstract works with fabric and tufting. Patti Samper works firmly in flat, colorful, opaque shapes that reference everyday objects of use. Christopher Schade’s work mixes painting and printmaking to create reconstructed images of landscapes. Dianna Woolley’s abstract work in oil and wax exists far from the earth, in thick layers and shapes that are reminiscent of extraterrestrial spaces. All artwork included in Art Fair 14C fair will be for sale.
