donna scarpa: reconstructing

Exhibition Dates: march 1 - 26, 2022

Reception: Thursday, march 3, 5pM - 8pm

The Painting Center is pleased to present Reconstructing a new exhibition by Connecticut painter Donna Scarpa. Exploring relationships in shape, texture, color and line, Donna’s works on linen traverse concepts of interior and exterior space, loosely responding to the past two years. Value shifts and textural nuances guide you through these spaces of density and freedom alike. Several smaller, painted works on paper will be on view in the Project Room, which share a freshness of the outdoors, offering a sense of rebirth and revival. Reconstructing will be on view March 1-26, 2022 at The Painting Center.

Donna holds a BFA in Fine Arts and Textile Design from The Fashion Institute of Technology. She furthered her studies in painting and drawing at The School of Visual Arts, The National Academy of Design, The Art Students League of New York, The Green Studio School in NYC and Assisi, Italy. Donna has exhibited in New York and Connecticut; she maintains her studio in Ridgefield, Connecticut.
