The Painting Center is pleased to present the exhibition Perspective Redefined curated by Steven Cabral and Patti Samper. This group exhibition of artists from The Painting Center’s Art File is on view from February 28 - March 25, 2023 in the Main Gallery and Project Room.

Perspective Redefined manifests new ideas stemming from looking, thinking, and experiences. Whether it is the visual perspective of the art expressed via space, dimension and illusion or the philosophical viewpoints expressed through attitudes, beliefs, and representation. These artworks shown in the exhibition challenge the viewer to look into multifaceted realities. They push us to accelerate changes in how we feel, internalize, and perceive.

Artists have long negotiated the diversity of experience and perception by interworking both object and memory to reconsider the relationship between them. The artists create from a varied perspective, which helps to generate new considerations. These concepts enhance our thoughts, ideas, and visions. Spanning from the mundane to the exceptional, presenting on any surface endless possibilities of expression.

Artists in the exhibition Perspective Redefined include: Todd Arsenault, Carla Aurich, Barbara Bachner, Frank Born, Monica Church, Tom Climent, Kathryn Freeman, Fukuko Harris, Blinn Jacobs, Richard Keen, Lydia Larson, John Lee, Janet Pedersen, Rosalyn Richards, Mary Robinson, Danila Rumold, Teresa Stanley and Hannah Witner.
