Recycled brown bags & acrylic collage on canvas, 18" x 24"

Leah K. Tomaino received her BFA from the Cooper Union, NYC and her MA from William Paterson University, NJ. Leah teaches at CCM and at Artworks Studio. Her award-winning work has been recognized for its unique pioneering collage technique by various formal publications and has been widely exhibited throughout the USA.

“My collages are made from brown bags that I paint, rip and glue to canvas. I like the concept that the bags were once trees, then they were made into paper, and then up-cycled into an image of the miraculous natural world, which provided the original inspiration and centered energy.”
