Ronald katz
Ronald Katz was born, to refugees from Germany, in South Africa in 1939, and emigrated to New York city in 1949. He attended Pels Art School, the Art Students League, the School of Visual Arts, and Parsons School of Design, where he did extensive work in printmaking, especially etching.
Katz’s work as a painter and printmaker is diverse in subject matter, involving abstraction and representation including figurative, still life, landscape, art history, concern for environmental issues, and natural historical material. Despite this diversity, however, there is consistency in his method and technique, and continued visual dialogue with the art that he most admires.
