Liza Phillips works primarily in painting, printmaking and Rug Design. In the past three years she has had 3 solo shows of her paintings and been awarded a fellowship at Ucross in Wyoming. Previously she has shown her work in galleries and museums in NYC, London and Hefei, China where she spent a month at the Taohuatan Artist Residency program.
“During the pandemic I decided to focus on woods and water. The landscape provides the setting for an exploration of cultural narratives around real and imagined ecosystems. Often these days nature doesn't feel natural to me and this is what I continue to explore in my work.”
