Douglas Newton
Douglas Newton has been painting seriously for about thirty years and full time for fifteen. Before that, he had a career as an advertising art director. He lives and works in Fort Greene, Brooklyn with his wife Kathleen Migliore-Newton, who is also an artist.
“My paintings are about light. Translucency, reflections, luminosity, all the ways light can transform our perceptions. Some paintings are about light around and through paper, plastic or fabric. My compositions are very influenced by abstract painting.”
