Laura Gurton
Laura Gurton, born in Brooklyn, NY, studied art at SVA (BFA),Parsons and Bank Street (MA). In the past twenty years Gurton's art has flourished and her work has been exhibited throughout the US in galleries and art fairs. She also had opportunities to show twice at the Venice Biennale and most recently at Art Taipei, Taiwan 2023.
“Endlessly inspired by nature, my work often contains painted elements that are reminiscent of life on a molecular level. These biomorphic forms recall living organisms which seem to multiply across the canvas in layered arrays. The fluid and organic patterns are achieved by the unpredictable reactions of oil paint, alkyd resin and glazes.”
