Rebecca Buchanan is a passionate painter and teacher. She was part of the 2011 Art 21 Teaching Cohert, a participant in the Art Institute of Contemporary Art for teachers in 2012, was a founding member of the Sequoia Gallery and Studios, and is currently part of the Brooklyn Arts Collective.
I am interested in color and spacial relationships between the buildings and sky and the playfulness of a shadow and light in my new neighborhood. I try to stay loose and let the paint tell most of the story. The titles come from things I overhear on the subways.
