Kathy Soles’ paintings and works on paper reference the natural world through observation and interpretation. Her solo and group exhibitions include The Painting Center, Fitchburg Art Museum, Hallspace Gallery, Fountain Street Gallery, and the Danforth Museum. Her artist residencies include Cill Rialag, Ireland, Millay Colony, and the Provincetown Compact C-Scape.

In direct response to place and memory, my work develops into a dialog between dense accumulations of paint and drawing materials and open passages evoking light, air, land, and water. The accreted marks tell their own histories with a sense of urgency and vulnerability as they collide, dissipate, and reassemble.
