Corine van Hoeve
Based in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, Corine began actively drawing and painting in mid-career after taking courses at the Dundas Valley School of Art (DVSA). Having previously obtained degrees from the University of Guelph, Western University, and University of Toronto, she has, at different times, worked in finance and education.
“My drawings and paintings are studies in observation. I focus on analyzing the value, colour, and form of my subjects, while exploring aspects of scale, and composition. However in so doing, I realize that the story is perhaps not mine to control. Content means different things to different people. I've cracked open a Pandora's box of the visuals taking on a life of their own.”
