JAMES HORNER

CLE - Bro for Bro, 2023

Oil on canvas, 39” x 28"

Sitting Centaur, 2022

Glazed ceramics, 8” x 4" x 5"

James Horner tells visual stories about the queer community. He fixes on paintings and experiments with drawings, sculptures, and zines. Horner has shown at the Leslie Lohman Museum of Art, the Painting Center, and more. This spring he'll take part in a public art show with other artists in downtown Chicago.

I examine the environmental psychology of the LGBTQ+ community, their icons, and strive to divert discrimination. In my work, a strong line guides the figures, which can be muscular, abstract, and grotesque. Creating in the pop and graffiti art realm, I implore viewers to cherish mundane moments with loved ones.
