DALE EMMART
New York and rural Pennsylvania painter Emmart has exhibited frequently on the east coast and has work in European and US collections. A recipient of grants from NYFA and a resident at The MacDowell Colony and at VCCA, she also created a summer Plein Air Artist retreat in Portugal.
“My work studies our atmosphere and the edge between description and abstraction. Active in both Plein air landscape and ink drawing I am interested in the horizon, where solidity meets the transient. The works reference exhaust, urban fumes, and clouds generated by industrial environments, suggesting complications of excess and climate.”
