Todd Moore is a graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design (MFA Painting) and The Evergreen State College, Olympia, WA (BA). He is a painter who has exhibited his work nationally in over 35 galleries and museums. He teaches in the Division of Experimental & Foundation Studies at RISD.
“I’m working on a continuing series about Los Angeles. The city is horizontal and linear and defined through simple forms; a seedy utilitarianism, a lumpy modernism. Colors are vivid, though baked in a veneer of exhaust soot and fine urban/desert grime, faded by the sun. Street level is where people wait for buses, bicycle to jobs, work in car washes and tire stores.”
