LIZ ATLAS
Growing up in NY, Liz left the city for college and only recently returned. She earned her MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Her work has been shown in Chicago and LA, and most recently at Transmitter Gallery, The Painting Center, and The Drawing Rooms.
“In my work I explore how shape/color/gesture/line can give voice to the unknown, unexpressed, embedded in accumulated memory/experience. Out of this language of shapes, colors, etc. I attempt to create paragraphs that evoke a physical and emotional response—sense of familiarity—without referencing specific content or meaning.”
