MONICA GOLDSMITH
Monica Goldsmith is a Colorado-based painter. She holds an MFA from Lesley University College of Art and Design in Cambridge, Massachusetts and a BA from Loyola University in Chicago. Residencies include Ucross Foundation, Hambidge Center for the Arts, Ragdale Foundation, and Vermont Studio Center. Her work is exhibited nationally.
I create paintings of imagined, mostly unfurnished residential interiors and the quiet moments of these spaces. The paintings are a glimpse into the ephemeral nature of these spaces. The work incorporates shifted perspective, the push/pull of background and foreground, as well as architectural and design elements.
