Pamela Shipley is a New Jersey/Florida based artist who works with naturally occurring data to inspire her process. Always a collector, her fascination with natural forms of data emerged as a metaphor for perception. Her observations and analysis are an introduction, inviting others to interpret in their own way.
“Intrigued by how we perceive truth and use data to support our viewpoints, I begin with raw data from nature. When pressed onto my picture plane, these elements express themselves and are my starting point. Lines/shapes/forms/colors/textures direct my actions and reflect the unique truth, logic, and beauty that I see.”
